Feliz Ano Novo 2017

District playing basketball on P-Day
HAUʻOLI MAKAHIKI HOU, E KA OHANA!!!!

Shout out to 2016 and welcome to 2017! It's weird to think that I made one year as a missionary this past week, and I'll make a year from my MTC date this upcoming Friday. MTC....RIP kkkkkk. Shout out to all my MTC buds, ballin' during gym time, and greenie days kkkkk. District Meeting was especially weird last week. It was the first time I had gone to our own district meeting in a few weeks. I was sitting there and I looked around and I was like wow, not too long ago I was the youngest one in this same district, and now.... well...I'm the oldest...feels weird.

This week was actually really good. It's the first normal week that we've had in a while now. It was nice to just have the normal schedule, and not having to worry about anything other than our investigators, haha.

Sunset in Coimbra
Eduardo, who we're helping drop smoking, accepted baptism!!! He still has some doubts about the restoration but understands the need to be baptized by proper authority. We marked his baptismal date, but because of New Year's and stuff, he didn't come to church, so we'll be setting our sights on a different day, but we got big hopes for him. He's super cool and is doing great with dropping smoking.

We found this guy name Luis, who is pretty funny. He reminds me of Gastan (idk if that's his name but it's something like that) from the movie "Beauty and the Beast". The whole time we talked to him he just had like this narcissism thing going on. He was like checking himself out and flexing and stuff, was hilarious, but in the end, he was cool and said we could come back so all good. A good laugh and a lesson, haha.
Elder Kim says that steak and onions is
what they eat for lunch all the time! It is
fast and easy to make. Breakfast, on the
other hand, is usually ham, eggs,
and chocolate milk.

New Year's wasn't that big of a deal, just like Christmas wasn't that big of a deal. We did have a nice dinner though with Irmão Gil and his wife, some other members, the other elders and an investigator that we have. Sadly, I didn't take photos...sorry. We got there super late, cuz the member who was supposed to pick us up never show up till late; we got there, talked and ate then we had to leave since we still had to be home at 10pm like normal. The food was so good, but the time was super short.

We've been doing good though here in Coimbra. It's been getting consistently colder, and today is downright freezing with the wind we're getting. We still went and played basketball though, cuz tem que ser right haha. Hope you guys had a great 2016, and an even better 2017! Keep up the great work!!!

com amor,
Élder Kim
