Aloha Família!
Every
day this week we woke up to the beautiful sound of rain, pouring rain, and I
told myself every day "It's gonna be a GREAT DAY!" and I really felt
that helped me to have a better attitude and better day. Em fim we had a great
week too!
Assistant to the President, Elder Gabbitas and I. He was my housemate from my first area in Aveiro. |
We
had a division with the elders from Covilhã and it was great. They both came
here and we did division here. I went with Elder Romano from Guatemala, and he's
been on the mish for like 3 weeks. He speaks more Spanish than Portugues, but
he's awesome! He's got a lot of faith and just wants to work hard, be an
example for his brothers, and do his best. We had a great division together! He
had some nice "traditional" ties from Guatemala, but seeing as I don't
have any more Hawaiian ties to give away, I couldn't trade him.... :( tudo bem
haha.
Cool
story: we had a goal of 4 baptismal invites for the day and we had done 3. I
asked Elder Romano if he had done one before, and he said no, so I was like 'ok
mano, you gonna do your first one today!' So we went and tried talking to some
people at the bus stop but nothing. They wouldn't let us talk to them. We kept
looking, and I was looking around when I saw this lady sitting down. We rushed
over and it turns out it was this investigator me and Elder Casper had taught,
but lost track of. Then her husband came out of the bathroom. I started talking
to both of um then gave the time over to Elder Romano. He invited them to be
baptized, and they said yes! Super cool! We're hoping to start teaching them
and getting them ready for baptism this week!
I
would like to thank you all for your guys' prayers and fasts. They really did
help us! We were able to find a lot of new investigators this week, 18 in fact,
including 3 families. Carlos from last week came back to church and is thinking
about baptism! We even taught a gypsy family of 8, under a bridge, around a
fire, and they wanna come to church this upcoming Sunday!
Family,
I love you guys! Thank you, guys, for all your love and support! I know that
God loves us, and that He knows what's best for us. I know that we as humans
are not always capable of seeing the big picture but that as we are paciente,
diligente, and humble we will gain the blessing that He has in store for us,
and we will become more like Him. I love you family!
