Aloha Família!
Elder Maloy, Former Missionary, FM (Elder Gomes), Elder Kim The two former missionaries served in the Porto Mission, and were in the area visiting. |
Just
want to say I love you guys and that I hope you’re (all) doing okay. I sent
some letters to you all, so you should get them soon....maybe? Haha. Anyways,
this week was a good week! We had a rougher start, but we finished off strong.
Could be worse, haha.
Miguel
and Tânia understood the plan of salvation and liked it. They also like the
idea of keeping the day of the Lord holy! But his work isn’t helping them with
that. We are working with them so that they can better keep the commandments
and receive the blessings that God wants to give them! It’s really cool cuz
they really are recognizing the Spirit as we teach them. They feel the
difference of living the gospel.

We
taught another cool young couple, Marcelo and Mônica, with their little baby
and they are awesome. They are feeling the Spirit in the lessons, and are
developing the faith to follow God. They accepted baptism, and wanted to come
to church but it seems like some things came up to impede them.
We’ve
been doing well here in Sião (Zion). We’ve been working hard, and trying to do
our best in everything that is expected of us. I am grateful for the patience
that the Lord has with our imperfections; also for the opportunities that we
have to get better. I’m grateful for the opportunities to develop and exercise
faith. I know that as we consciously put Jesus Christ in the center of our
lives with real intent and desire to follow Him, we will begin to see ourselves
change for the better. A peace, happiness, and joy will enter in our lives,
that can only come from God. Our lives are richer, our lives are more colorful,
they have more purpose. As we trust in Him, our lives will be shaped and
directed in ways that we could not have necessarily foreseen and that we may
not understand, but as we do our best we gain the hope and faith and patience
that all will work for our good.
Family,
I love you guys! Have a great week! Thanks for everything! Keep up the great
work! Mālama pono!

On the hill is a former Muslim fortress named Portas do Sol. It is in Santarem. |
For exercise, we ran up to Portas do Sol, to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, it wasn't open yet. |
The five patches in the bottom row are from the cities I have served in while here in Portugal. The one on top, for Porto, I bought since that is the namesake of the mission. |
Thank you for your words. Yes as I center my life around Christ I have faith that I will feel the SPirit more and that will help temper the areas that I would like to change for the better which will bring more peace to my soul. Love you Elder Kim, Gramma Odale
